We are a small, local company based out of Boise, Idaho.
Our garden boxes are made of 5/4 cedar boards and 4×4 cedar posts. We use top grade exterior wood screws for assembly.
We do not build boxes with metal sides. We have chosen to build our boxes from cedar and top grade exterior wood screws. In our hot summer days, metal usually heats up more quickly than wood products, overheating the dirt, and as a result, the plants’ roots. Cedar is strong, resilient to fluctuating temperatures, and is a natural product.
Our standard garden box sizes are 2’x to 16’ long and 12”, 18”, and 24” deep. Our most popular size is 3’x6’x1.5’.
We have also built custom size garden boxes from 1’ to 16’ long and 12” to 36” deep. Please see our customer order/information form for all standard sizes.
The best way to order our garden boxes is to message us via our order/information form. We will get in touch with you as quickly as possible to answer any questions and with an estimated time for delivery.

This is a personal preference. If you stain, we recommend lining the interior of your beds to help prevent leaching into the dirt of vegetable boxes. Raw linseed oil or a combination beeswax and mineral mixtures are great natural options.
You can read more in our blog post, Staining Your Cedar Garden Boxes.
You can plan year round with your boxes. Winter planting requires some additional tools, like cold box covers.
For summer planting, planting after the last frost is recommended for most vegetables (usually in the first few weeks of May). You can get a jump start by planting by starting seeds indoors several weeks before planting outdoors.
There are so many varieties of trellises, and so many ways to install them. We use trellises in our garden to grow vine vegetables like melons and squashes. The plants grow up the trellises and provide a beautiful aesthetic to the garden, while also providing shade to plants under the trellis that prefer more shade. And, in lieu of tomato cages, tomatoes and tomatillos flourish on trellises.
Installing the trellises in the boxes before filling them with rock and dirt works best as the dirt will provide needed support.
Having legs just a little longer than the sides allow you to easily level the beds without digging the sides of the boxes into the ground.
